NAMI Fort Wayne Board Member Lisa Ganaway was interviewed as part of this report. Lisa speaks from personal experience–her son was diagnosed with schizophrenia and died from sepsis in a North Carolina jail. After viewing the police body camera footage, Lisa shared that she doesn’t believe police are getting enough training when it comes to mental health.
