Please join NAMI Fort Wayne for our monthly Education Night Speaker Series on Tuesday, February 25 from 8:00-9:00 PM.
Our second speaker of the evening is a representative from the Anthony Wayne Rehabilitation Center (AWRC) – Benchmark. AWRC is a not-for-profit company which serves individuals with disabilities and those with behavioral health needs. A representative will discuss their services and mobile crisis program — AWRC Crisis Services.
This program operates throughout northeast Indiana with crisis response and intervention teams on-call 24/7/365. Their teams are made of highly trained and compassionate individuals, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), and Certified Peer Specialists. AWRC collaborates with Benchmark Human Services to offer this program.
Benchmark offers crisis response and intervention services to help those in need through the crisis while avoiding hospital or psychiatric facility admissions or involvement with law enforcement. The services aim to diffuse the immediate crisis, provide follow-up services and link individuals to ongoing community resources and supports to prevent future crises.
Populations served include:
- Individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis
- Individuals with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), autism, and/or dual diagnoses
- Rural and frontier populations
- Indigenous populations
- Veterans
- Individuals across the lifespan, including children and older adults
This event is free and open to the public.
