Please join NAMI Fort Wayne for our monthly Education Night Speaker Series on Tuesday, July 22 from 7:00-8:00 PM.

Our first guest speaker of the evening will be a representative from the Fort Wayne Center for Learning (FWCL ) .

FWLC is a non-profit organization founded by parents dedicated to children with learning difficulties. They believe a child must develop academic skills in addition to building confidence and a positive self-image to continue the learning process and achieve success.

Students work to enhance and build academic skills along side instruction to help students discover how to think about learning and how to regulate habitual and anxiety-ridden learning behaviors.

  • Intensive Instruction Programs: Trained instructors work with the student using evidence based programs best suited for the student based on their academic pre-assessment. Instruction is tailored to each student and builds a strong foundation of fundamental skills.
  • Skills Taught: Reading, Phonemic Awareness, Spelling, Reading and Listening Comprehension, Reading and Math Fluency, Mathematical Reasoning and Computation, Visual/Spatial Strategies, and Critical Thinking
  • For students with low assessment scores, students with diagnosed or undiagnosed learning and neurological disabilities, students that struggle with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, etc.  or students that are behind for their grade level.

This event is free and open to the public.
