The Lutheran Foundation’s Board of Directors has awarded NAMI Fort Wayne a 2023 Community Grant in the amount of $8,791.00. The funds will help support NAMI Fort Wayne’s efforts to promote mental wellness and reduce the stigma of mental illness.
NAMI Fort Wayne raises community awareness of the prevalence and facts of mental illness, encourages understanding and empathy, and promotes interventions that can lead to better lives through its external communications and education programs. These include FaithNet “Bridges of Hope” presentations, community outreach “Understanding Mental Illness” presentations, NAMI Family-to-Family and Peer-to-Peer Education courses, the Education Night Speakers Series, community events with non-profit collaborators, as well as the newly redesigned NAMI Fort Wayne website. NAMI Fort Wayne also offers weekly support group meetings for people with mental health conditions and their families.
All NAMI Fort Wayne programs are offered free of charge to the community.
