NAMI Fort Wayne’s 2025 “Run White & Blue” 5K held July 4th at Shoaff Park drew the largest participation in its 8-year history! Of the record 364 people who registered to run, 318 arrived at the course ready to compete for fastest race times and prizes for the most patriotic attire. Also among the giveaways were a 6-month family membership to the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne and a long list of door prizes that included gift cards and gift baskets. WANE TV arrived to cover the race and interview Steve McMahon, director of the 5K and a NAMI Fort Wayne board member. The event is NAMI Fort Wayne’s largest annual fundraiser. Monies raised by the event help NAMI Fort Wayne’s effort to provide education, support, and advocacy for the thousands of families and individuals in our community who live with mental health challenges.
NAMI Fort Wayne is grateful to the many volunteers who gave time to help with planning and set-up and extends a special thank-you to those our 5K sponsors: Scott and Yvonne Figgins; Parkview Hospital Randallia; Fill-Rite (a Gorman-Rupp company); the YMCA; Speedway Concrete & Aggregate Supplies; Lassus Bros.; Bowen Health; The Carriage House; In Loving Memory of Duane Kronberg; Kona Ice; Black Women Empowered Safe Haven; Galecki Financial Management; Sincerely Good Music DJ Entertainment & Lighting; and Summit Radiology.
