Family lined up for a photo

NAMI Fort Wayne’s Fourth of July 5K run and fundraiser at Foster Park was a firecracker success!

The festive holiday morning included medals for runners in each age category, lots of door prizes including a drawing for a six-month household membership to the Greater Fort Wayne YMCA and Lassus Handy Dandy gift cards as well as many other giveaways.  Participants and their guests enjoyed refreshing Kona Ice. Our best dressed participants receive a delicious apple pies for their patriotic attire!

Congratulations to the overall male winner Jesse Embry with a time of 18:01 and the overall female winner Jaelyn Embry with a time of 20:06!

Proceeds from the 5K help to fund NAMI Fort Wayne’s efforts to improve the lives of those in the community who live with mental health challenges.

A big thank you all of our race-day volunteers and to our generous sponsors: The Carriage House; Fill-Rite; Lassus Bros Oil; YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne; Bay Mental Health, LLC; Kona Ice; Sweetwater Sound; and MastersInCounseling.Org.

Next year’s Run White & Blue 5K will be held in a different venue due to ongoing construction at Foster Park. Mark your calendars for July 4, 2024, at the Conklin Pavilion at Shoaff Park in Fort Wayne!
